The Center and its Public School Partners

The National University System Center for Integrative Health is partnering with public schools in California on incentives related to the growing challenge of childhood obesity. The intention is to develop an innovative kindergarten to grade 3 curriculum that will provide teachers will the tools to teach children essential health, wellness and nutrition skills. Programs will be tested in partnership with California offices of education, and will be designed to meet the California standards. It will ultimately be made available free of charge to school districts with the goal of improving California’s ranking on The National Survey of Children’s Health.
