About the Author: Dr. Mac Powell
In addition to being the author of "The Ball is The Enemy," Dr. Mac Powell is the Dean of the National University Golf Academy.
Dr. Powell is a professor of psychology at National University and a PGA Class "A" Professional with offices in Los Angeles and the Midwest. He is an alumnus of the University of Missouri, where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology. Dr. Powell also completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles and returned to the University of Missouri to earn a Ph.D.
Dr. Powell trained at Cedars-Sinai Hospital’s Center for the Study of Children in Groups and Vista Del Mar’s Family Stress Program in Los Angeles. He also worked as the primary family therapy clinician for a residential treatment facility for women and their families in St. Louis before designing a sports psychology curriculum at the Gateway Golf Academy.
